How We Calculate This

Total runtime = sum of all movie runtimes. Total with breaks = runtime + (movieCount - 1) × breakDuration. The scheduler simulates real-time progression, respecting optional sleep windows.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find exact movie runtimes?

Check IMDb, Wikipedia, or your streaming service for accurate runtimes. Remember that theatrical versions may differ from extended/director's cuts by 10-30 minutes or more.

What about credits and post-credits scenes?

Movie runtimes typically include credits. If you skip credits, subtract 5-10 minutes per movie. For Marvel films, you might want to keep credits time for those post-credits scenes!

How long is too long for a marathon?

Studies suggest attention and enjoyment decrease significantly after 4-5 hours of continuous viewing. Consider spreading longer marathons across multiple days or taking substantial meal breaks.

Should I include snack/meal breaks?

The break duration setting can include quick bathroom/snack breaks. For meal breaks during longer marathons, add extra time or set a longer break duration between specific movies.
