Frequently Asked Questions

Is bigger always cheaper per unit?

Not always! While bulk sizes often have lower unit prices, sometimes smaller sizes go on sale or have promotions that make them the better deal. Always compare unit prices.

How do stores calculate unit prices?

Stores typically show price per ounce, pound, or count on shelf tags. This calculator lets you compare when stores use different units or don't display unit prices.

Should I always buy the lowest unit price?

Consider: Will you use it all before it expires? Do you have storage space? Is the upfront cost within budget? Sometimes paying more per unit for a smaller size makes sense.
