Pokémon GO Weight Loss Calculator

Example: 60 min at 4.8 km/h = 4.8 km + 250 kcal

This calculator converts Pokémon GO gameplay time into estimated distance walked and calories burned based on walking pace and body weight. It uses MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values for calorie estimates at different walking speeds.

How We Calculate This

Calories are calculated using the MET formula: kcal = MET × weight(kg) × hours. Walking MET values are: 2.8 (3.5 km/h), 3.3 (4.8 km/h), 4.3 (6.0 km/h). Distance is simply speed × time, with optional GPS tracking reduction.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the calorie calculation?

The calculator uses MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values based on walking speed research. It provides a reasonable estimate but actual calorie burn varies based on terrain, weather, and individual metabolism. Consider this an approximation rather than exact measurement.

Why might my actual distance in-game differ?

Pokémon GO uses GPS tracking which can be affected by signal quality, battery saver mode, and the app's update frequency. The game also has a speed cap for egg hatching. This calculator shows your actual walking distance, not what the app might register.

What MET values are used?

Casual walking (3.5 km/h) uses MET 2.8, normal walking (4.8 km/h) uses MET 3.3, and brisk walking (6.0 km/h) uses MET 4.3. These are based on the Compendium of Physical Activities.

Does this account for stopping to catch Pokémon?

The calculation assumes continuous walking. If you frequently stop to catch Pokémon or battle gyms, your actual distance and calorie burn will be lower. Consider entering only your active walking time.
