How We Calculate This

MPG = Miles Driven ÷ Gallons Used. L/100km = 235.215 ÷ MPG. Cost per mile = Gas Price ÷ MPG. UK MPG uses imperial gallons (1 UK gal = 1.2 US gal).

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate my car's MPG?

Fill up your tank completely. Reset your trip odometer. Drive normally until you need gas again. Fill up completely and note the gallons. Divide miles driven by gallons used.

What is good gas mileage?

It depends on vehicle type. Compact cars: 30-40 MPG. Midsize sedans: 25-35 MPG. SUVs: 20-30 MPG. Trucks: 15-25 MPG. Hybrids: 40-60 MPG.

Why is my MPG lower than the EPA rating?

EPA tests are done in controlled conditions. Real-world factors like city driving, AC use, aggressive acceleration, cold weather, and heavy loads reduce fuel economy.

How do I convert MPG to L/100km?

Divide 235.215 by your MPG. For example, 30 MPG = 235.215 ÷ 30 = 7.84 L/100km. Lower L/100km is more efficient.
